Top 10 small wellness products I travel with
These are my top wellness essentials I take with me no matter where I travel, so I can still maintain a routine.
PS they’re all carry on friendly!
1. Tongue Scraper - not very glamorous, but boy does it make me feel fresh after a long travel day.
2. Mouth Tape - even if I’m not getting a ton of sleep because of jet lag, this ensures that I’m getting the deepest sleep possible.
3. Resistance & Stretching Bands - a great way to deepen your stretch or amplify your workout, plus they take up almost no space. I find having the stretching band specifically is a great cue to remind me to do some posture correcting exercises.
4. Dry brush - I usually take a mini handheld dry brush so I can get my lymphatic system moving before I shower. This feels so nice to de-puff and circulate after long periods of being still.
5. Hydration Packs - this one really makes a huge difference, especially with fast paced travel where often I forget to hydrate. I find in destinations where you can’t drink the tap water, I tend to drink less and adding this to my bottle ensures I’m replenishing my electrolytes and retaining as much water as possible.
6. Gua Sha - this one makes me feel like a supermodel on the go! Great if you’re feeling congested at all and want to drain your sinuses. I follow a 2-5min routine that makes me feel like a skincare guru even if I’m only traveling with the bare essentials (for me it’s facewash, moisturizer, sunscreen, retinol & vitamin C). Just make sure you bring your favourite facial oil to use along with it!
7. Packing Cubes & Supplement Organizers - knowing what I packed, where it is and overall just feeling organized gives me mental clarity when on the go. The same way I prioritize a clean space when I’m home, I treat my suitcase like I would my apartment. I want it organized, functional and nice to look at!
8. Essential Amino Acids - getting adequate protein in while traveling can be difficult, so I like to travel with an essential amino acid powder to ensure that I’m maintaining muscle and giving my body the building blocks it needs for so many functions and optimal energy. Of the 20 amino acids, 9 are classified as essential and our bodies cannot produce them, so I want to make sure no matter where in the world I am, I’m consuming them.
9. Digestive Bitter Spray - this is super easy to throw in your purse or day bag and spritz while out and about. This helps easing my system into eating different foods than I’m used to. It’s gentle and helps with bloating!
10. Ankle weights - hear me out, these ones might be heavy (2-4lbs), but I know no matter where I’m located I only need 15 min with these on to get a killer burn. They are great for an arm or booty workout - I’ll share my routine in another post. My friends do make fun of me for traveling with these ones, but hey I consider it a fitness challenge to carry the extra weight in my backpack. Also I recommend only in a carry on because likely they will make your checked bag overweight if you’re like me and are always overpacking.
